PARD couldn't run such a successful program without our wonderful lineup of therapeutic horses. Each horse is carefully selected for our program, and goes through extensive screening to ensure they are the best match for PARD.

Bobby
Many riders like to call Bobby the little "white" horse, but infact he is considered a "grey" horse. Bobby is a lovely Arabian gelding. The smallest of the five therapy horses, Bobby's narrow build is ideal for individuals with smaller physiques or limited flexion in their hips or pelvis. With his sweet demeanor Bobby has stolen a few hearts since he joined the program in March 2015 at 16 years old. He was previously used in children's lessons and camps, and was once known as "Winter Wonderland". |

Frank
Frank joined PARD permenantly in early 2016 after a long search for the perfect 'little big horse' he was found. Frank is strong enough to carry the weight of a rider without being too tall for his sidewalkers! He is a stunning Canadian Warmblood/Quarter Horse/Morgan gelding who celebrated his 20th birthday in 2018. Frank had been shown at hunter jumper shows previously and continues to shine in the stewardship program with his rider, Sarah. |

NuBuck
This cute Haflinger cross gelding was affectionately named NuBuck in honour of the old "Buck" who preceded him (a PARD favorite). He is famously recognized by his luscious locks and gentle eyes. 2021 marks his 25th birthday. NuBuck is our most seasoned therapy horse, previously been working as a trail horse before joining the program in 2010. |

Stormy
Stormy is a 25 year old (2020) Quarter Horse gelding. He was purchased June 2011 as a 16 year old. He had been showing beginner/jumper. If you can't tell him apart from Doc, don't worry, you're not alone. Try to remember that "Stormy has the Star". Stormy has a slow and steady gait and requires encouragement to get him to "walk-on". But he is very smart and will slow his gait when he senses his rider is off balance. Don't let him fool you though, he can pick up his hooves and run like the wind when he wants to. |

Doc
"Doc lost a sock" is another way of trying to tell these two handsome chestnuts apart. Doc is a 25 year old (2020) Registered Quarter Horse gelding. He joined PARD in April of 2011 and has experience showing halter/leadline/jumper. Doc has a mischievous side that only shows when he's not working as a therapy horse. His hobbies include snatching off Stormy's blankets during the winter, over and over again! |
