New volunteers welcome! No horse experience needed!
Join us for refreshments from 1pm-2pm, meet our horses and Instructors and learn more about the program! Stay for a lesson demonstration at 2pm with a few of our returning PARD riders! Those interested in volunteering are invited to stay after the demo for some hands-on learning with our CanTRA qualified instructors. Please wear proper footwear to be around horses (no crocs or sandals)
Volunteers help the organization in many different ways! Our most important volunteers are the men and women who give a few hours each week from June-August to our assisted riding program. Each rider can need as many as 3-4 volunteers to assist them during the 30 min session; a horse leader (the person in control of the horse), and a side-walker on either side of the rider. Side walkers can offer emotional support to riders, or light physical support to help the rider get the most out of each session. To learn more, please visit out Volunteer Page or, better yet, come to the Orientation!
